What is LiDAR?

LiDAR, or light detection and ranging, uses hundreds of thousands of individual light pulses a second and their subsequent reflection off of objects to figure out how far they are from the drone. As these light pulses are completed hundreds of thousands of times every second, positions of objects are found at incredibly high accuracy and sampling density. This data is then used to provide full property topography with elevations increments as small as a quarter foot.
